At those Assembly elections in 2012, Manohar Parrikar had publicly promised that only Professionals and not Politicians would head all State Corporations and other government undertakings if he came to Power. We were all very impressed with that promise and voted for Mr. Parrikar with high hopes that Goa would move forward.
But after becoming Chief Minister to everybody’s utter dismay, all the Corporations were loaded by Manohar Parrikar with his political cronies. Even many BJP candidates defeated at those Assembly elections were politically rehabilitated so that they could avail and enjoy free perks and privileges at tax payer’s expense.
Now with Manohar Parrikar gone and all those positions up for grabs again, Goa’s dummy and lackluster Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is all set to load all those Corporations with BJP karyakartas. But Pramod Sawant’s perennial handicap as Chief Minister will be his inability to communicate in English. And with this drawback of the Chief Minister, his Ministers are making the best while the honey lasts.
It would be interesting to see the stand taken by those so-called Watch dogs of Goa in the cabinet who had in March 2017 vowed publicly that they would be the Messiahs of Goem, Goenkar and Goenkarponn. But to everyone’s absolute disappointment it has been sheer Fot, Foting and Fotingponn all the way.
